Starbucks plans to ditch Square in 2015.

Starbucks is planning to leap ahead with advancements in its own app development, steering away from a two-year partnership with Square. With its own successful loyalty program and payment app, Starbucks has had less need for Square Order. But according to figures from Business Insider, the move enables Starbucks to save on mobile payments fees, which is likely a big source of motivation for the split.
