In a recent article, Payment Week reported that a panel at the Bank Customer Experience Summit addressed the ongoing issue of mobile payment adoption. Despite the consistent argument that security is holding people back from using mobile payments, a new idea emerged. Lack of education could be one of the bigger reasons why people steer away, and it’s up to providers to inform customers about the systems and tools they are going to be using.
However, with 65% of consumers not finding any clear benefit to adoption, it still remains that value is also a leading issue. Until providers find ways to make the benefits of mobile payments clear to consumers, adoption could continue to be lagging.
